Sometimes we are faced with challenges and conditions that leave us hopeless. It could be personal, political, environmental such as a natural disaster or the pandemic that all of us in the world are currently living. During difficult times we need to be strong mentally, physically and emotionally.

Although, there are many things we do not have control over, we do have the ability to bring balance back into our lives while we keep moving forward. However, we must trust the process, release any fear that we may have and know that things will get better as we make the choices to support our health and well-being.

Begin by boosting self-esteem. Start a journal with the things you like about yourself. Focus on your achievements, the things you have accomplished rather than comparing yourself to others. Visualize yourself as you want to be, affirm what you want to see in your life to create the best version of yourself.

Create a healthy relationship with yourself both physically and emotionally. Start with an exercise program. It is a great way to increase motivation, release endorphins and the feelgood hormones. Exercise is important for your physical and mental well-being. Along with an exercise program, make sure you are making healthy food choices. The choices about what you eat and drink matter. A healthy diet brings many benefits in maintaining a healthy weight, lowering cholesterol and blood pressure and preventing certain undesirable health conditions.

This path to improved health is another way to bring more balance into your life. Work-life balance is essential. Prioritizing the demands of one’s work life and one’s personal life is necessary to maintain your equilibrium. A good work balance is primary, to reduce stress, and to be able to spend quality time with your family and friends. It is important to find a job that you are passionate about and to set boundaries between work and personal life.

Create a calendar and plan time for yourself to do the things you love doing. Make the time to take that vacation that you may have been putting off. When you appreciate and love yourself enough to do the things that are best for your well-being, you will be that much more capable to do the things for people that depend on you.

Maintaining a healthy relationship with yourself along with these self-care methods will help you to bring balance in your life. This is the catalyst for being successful and stress free in all areas of your life during challenging times.
