Dahlia is a genus of bushy, tuberous, herbaceous perennial plants native to Mexico. It’s a related species of the sunflower, daisy, chrysanthemum, and zinnia. There are 42 species of dahlia, with hybrids commonly grown as garden plants. Can you imagine that there are more than 30 species and over 20,000 cultivars (a plant variety that has been produced in cultivation by selective breeding) of dahlias. Some people are so enamored with its beauty they have a drawing tattooed on special body parts.
